I am going to take photos of a girl sat in a grave yard.. leaning against either a grave stone or a tree.
I am going to experiment how i want her to be sat or positioned and choose which i prefer.
Once i have chosen my final picture i am only going to slightly edit it. I am going to boost the constrast and change it to black and white so it looks gloomy and doesn't show a very positive atmposphere.
If i don't lie this idea my second choice is for her to be sat on a bench looking out into the graveyard.. i am still going to edit it the same as option one though.

Print Production -Font Tests.
Here are some examples of fonts i might use on my CD Cover:
I found these using Dafont.com
Ink In The Meat by Billy Argel

Cold Night for Alligators by junkohanhero
Old London by Dieter Steffmann
The Celtic Garamond the 2nd
I chose these fonts as testers of what i want to do on my final CD cover because i think they symbolize the pop rock genre, very similar to bands such as My Chemical Romance and Paramore.

Print Production - Treatment.
Title
Knocking of Heaven's door, The Cut.
Format
Canon 100d
Synopsis
I am going to design a CD cover on paper and possibly re-do it using some kind of computer software, my idea for the CD cover is based on the song ''Knocking on heaven's door'', its going to be the main singer sat in a grave yard at night looking up into the sky, and in the sky the band name 'The Cut' will be spread across the sky. I have chosen dark colours for my CD cover to symbolize depression or sadness.
Audience
My CD cover is aimed at anyone aged over 13, mostly teenagers. I have chosen this age group because i don't think the colour or song genre appeals to anyone younger, but at the same time being able to relate to anyone of an older age.
Feasibility
I think i can do this task, independently on paper, because if i did it with any other people the idea may try to have too many ideas thrown onto it and become complicated.
Rationale
I chose doing the CD cover because i think it'll be the best one to suit my skills and creativity, i chose the CD cover because it relates to the song.

Production Diary
Friday 7th January 2011:
This week at college we decided which two groups we'd specialize in out of music production, print production and video production. I originally chose print and video production, but then after experiencing a small chunk of music production i ditched video, for music. We spent the afternoon observing the music production students and learning about the mixing desks, after experiencing this, i realized i wanted to change groups.
Friday 14th January 2011:
This week at college we spent the first hour of the lesson completing our blogs and then the second half we went down to one of the performance rooms and watched a number of bands perform a few songs each, my favorite band was called the squeeze, it was an all boy band, i knew the drummer and this band was my favorite because they were the most emotional and expressive.
Friday 21st January 2011:
This week at college we spent the first half hour updating our blog site, then for the rest of the day we learnt all about cameras, i worked on my canon 1000d, i learnt all about the ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed. I enjoyed this week a lot because it means i can go home and use my camera with more knowledge on its functions.
Friday 28th January 2011:
This week at college we spent the first hour updating out blog site, then we spent the rest of the day practising with the canon 1000d and experimenting with the ISO, Aperture and Shutterspeed. After we'd exprimented, we went to take photos of the students in the music production room.
Friday 4th February 2011:
This week at college we spent the whole afternoon in the computer room, updating our blogs and researching different music videos using youtube. As a group we decided we prefered typography, which is a video of all the song lyrics moving about the clip, we think we might use this as our final idea.
Friday 11th February 2011:
This week at college a trip to go to the opera house was organized, we spent the day in london watching opera, ballet and press conferences.
Friday 18th February 2011:
This week at college was a bit of everything, i spent some of the lesson updating my blogger, i then spent 10-20 minutes experimenting with the Canon 100d. After that i helped my group come up with a music video idea, we eventually chose one.
Friday 4th March 2011:
This week at college we spent the afternoon inspecting treatment; writing blogs about the title, format, synopsis, audience, feasibility and rationale.
Friday 11th March 2011:
This week at college we spend the afternoon finishing off our Print Production treatment, outline of layout, font sheets, shooting schedule and contact sheets.

Skills Development
The two areas i want to specialize in are video production and print production.
In both areas the skills i'd like to develop are within using photoshop and final cut pro. I'd like to become comfortable using both these programmes so i can use them in and outside of college.
I know how to use fireworks, which is similar too photoshop, but a less complicated version, it's not the best site to use but i learnt how to use it in school during my graphics lessons last year. When it comes to photo editing i have used photoscape and the popular site picnik. I also know how to use SLR cameras, which would be good for album covers and posters. I'm not the most experienced person in these departments, but i'd like to develop my skills.
Choice of Medium
For this assignment the two areas i wish to specialize in are Print Production and Video Production.
